What Makes Arabic Makeup Special?

Emphasis on Brown Skin

Arabic makeup is known for its ability to highlight and enhance brown skin tones, celebrating their natural beauty. Here’s how:

  1. Rich, Warm Tones: Shades of gold, bronze, and copper perfectly complement brown skin, enhancing its natural warmth.
  2. Flawless Complexion Techniques: Full-coverage foundations and concealers create a smooth, even base.
  3. Dramatic Eyes: Intense eye makeup creates a striking contrast that enhances brown skin.
  4. Vibrant Lip Colors: Deep reds, berries, and rich nudes complement and enhance natural lip color.
  5. Glowing Skin: Highlighters in golden and bronze shades blend beautifully with brown skin.
  6. Bold Brows: Well-defined, bold eyebrows frame the face beautifully.

Cultural Significance of Arabic Makeup – Inspiration from Nature

Arabic makeup looks are inspired by the natural surroundings of the Middle East, including desert landscapes and rich, warm tones of the environment. This inspiration is reflected in the earthy and jewel-toned palettes often used.

Overall, Arabic makeup is celebrated for its ability to enhance natural beauty while making a bold, artistic statement.

Steps Covered in Aicha’s Arabic Makeup Tutorial

Step 1: Prepping the Skin

First things first, skincare is key to a flawless makeup application. I start by applying the HEIMISH Moringa Ceramide Hyaluronic Hydrating Cream as my primer. This hydrating cream not only preps my skin but also ensures a smooth and dewy finish. It’s super lightweight and absorbs quickly, creating the perfect base for my foundation.

Step 2: Creating the Smokey Brown Eyes – Arabic Makeup Tutorial

Now for the fun part – the exotic Arabic eye makeup eyes!

I love using a combination of the Ingrid Ideal Eyes & Milani Gilded Mini Eyeshadow Palette and Wet n Wild Color Icon Naked Brown. These palettes offer a great range of brown shades perfect for that smokey eye look.

  1. Base Color: Start with a light brown shade from the Wet n Wild palette and apply it all over your eyelid as a base.
  2. Outer Corner: For added depth, take a darker brown shade from the Ingrid Ideal Eyes palette, and apply it to the outer corner of your eyes.
  3. Lower Lash Line: Apply the same dark brown shade from the crease along your lower lash line to tie the look together.
  4. Lid Pop:Apply terracotta eyeshadow from the Milani palette to the center of your eyelids for a beautiful dimension.
Kohl Eye Pencil maxfactor – Winged Eyeliner for beginners

Step 3: Eyeliner

No Arab makeup look is complete without bold eyeliner. Use Maxfactor Kohl Pencil in Black to line your waterline and upper lash line, thickening towards the outer corner. Wing it out slightly for a classic, elongated eye shape, and smudge for a smokier effect.

Step 4: Mascara

Mascara time in the Arabic Makeup Tutorial! I’m using the Maybelline Colossal Mascara, which adds incredible volume and length to my lashes. Apply a generous coat to both your upper and lower lashes to make your eyes pop. For an even more dramatic effect, you can use a lash curler before applying mascara to lift and curl your lashes but you know me – I don’t do these things.

Step 5: Defining the Brows

Don’t forget your brows! Well-defined brows frame your face and complete the eye look beautifully. I like to fill in my brows using a brow pencil or powder that matches my natural hair color. However, these days my eyebrows are overgrown so I avoid using brow pencils to keep it natural.

Step 6: Foundation Application

Next up, foundation! I’m using Ingrid Cosmetics foundation, which offers fantastic coverage while still feeling light on the skin. It is one shade lighter than my skin tone and I apply it with my fingers for natural coverage. Don’t forget to blend it down your neck to avoid any harsh lines.

HD PRO Concealer – LA Girl

Step 7: Concealing and Setting

To ensure a flawless base, I use a LA girl concealer. This helps in brightening the under-eye area. After blending the concealer, I set everything with a translucent setting powder to avoid any creasing and to keep my makeup in place all day.

Step 8: Adding the Glow

For that dewy skin in the Arabic Makeup Tutorial, apply the Revolution Beauty Highlighter in Raise The Bar to the high points of your face. This includes your cheekbones, brow bone, the bridge of your nose, and the cupid’s bow. This highlighter gives a gorgeous, radiant finish that catches the light perfectly.

Step 9: Blush and Contour

To add some color and dimension to your face, I add a Milani terracotta blush to the apples of my cheeks. Blend it upwards towards your temples for a natural flush. For contouring, I selected Wet n Wild Color Icon Naked Brown  you can use a matte bronzer or contour powder to define your cheekbones, jawline, and the sides of your nose. Blend everything well to avoid any harsh lines.

Morning Breeze MAC

Step 10: Perfecting the Lips

Finish off the Arabic Makeup Tutorial with a beautiful nude lipstick. I’m using MAC Morning Breeze you can find its Dupe in MAC Taupe, which is a perfect nude brown shade. It complements the smokey brown eyes without overpowering them.

Final Touches

Once everything is applied, give your face a quick spritz of setting spray to lock your makeup in place. This ensures that your look stays fresh and dewy all day long. If you have oily skin, you can carry a compact powder with you for touch-ups throughout the day.

Conclusion

And there you have it, beauties! An effortless and glamorous Arabic Makeup Tutorial with smokey brown eyes and dewy skin, all achieved using affordable products. I hope you found this tutorial easy to follow and that you enjoy recreating this look as much as I did. Remember, practice makes perfect, so don’t be afraid to experiment and make this look your own.
