Step 1: Prep Your Skin

Before we begin applying foundation, let’s prepare our skin for the makeup.

Start by generously applying ice-cool Aloe Vera Gel to soothe and hydrate your skin. I recommend making cuts on the Aloe Vera plant to easily extract the fresh gel 🙂

Aloe vera is excellent for acne-prone skin as it provides soothing effects and works wonders as a primer. The key is to massage it thoroughly into your skin, allowing it to dry completely. This way, you can proceed with your makeup without worrying about foundation flakes.

If you have extra oily skin, simply rinse your face with water once it’s dry, pat it dry, and apply a light moisturizer. Following these steps will ensure a flawless finish.

Step 2: Eyes – Blue and Bold

As my skin was being primed, I began with the eyes. I used the Naked Brown blush from Wet n Wild in my crease, using a fluffy brush to blend it well.

Next, for the lid, I applied the Zay Beauty Shokh Eyeshadow Palette, choosing the deepest blue shade, Neeli, which resembles a shiny peacock blue. I concentrated most of it on the lower part of the lid and then blended it upwards with the brown. The key here is to focus the eyeshadow on the lower lid rather than covering the entire lid.

I then used the same brown and blue under the eyes to deepen the look since I wasn’t using eyeliner. For a more dramatic effect, you can certainly add white or brown kajal to your waterline.

Afterward, I applied Blue Jeans from NYX to create a shiny duo-tone blue effect. It’s crucial to use a minimal amount for this step, applying it from the inner corner towards the center of the lid.

For the brow bone, I used a silver glitter shade called Chandani from the same palette. I applied a tiny amount and also dabbed it on the inner corner of the eye.

Step 3: Concealer

A touch of color correction can transform the appearance of your foundation.

For the concealer, I opted for Tarte Clay Stick Foundation in Sand, a shade slightly darker than my skin tone. I applied a small amount without mixing it with my usual Bourjois Always Fabulous 2-In-1 Foundcealer Stick. Since I’m using a full-coverage foundation, I aim to minimize the number of products used.

Let’s perfect that base!

Step 4: Flawless Sapphire Foundation

For the Eid Makeup base, I’ve used Sapphire Foundation in Hazel Nut. It’s a matte, full-coverage foundation that’s perfect for oily skin and blends like a dream. The trick is to apply it extremely quickly all over the face to get smooth coverage because it has a very thin consistency. You can build coverage as desired.

For concealer, I opted for Wet n Wild Photo Focus Concealer in Ivory, applying it to the high points of my face. Let it sit for a few minutes before blending with a beauty blender, ensuring not to disrupt any lines you’ve created.

After blending, set it with a thin layer of setting powder. I used Laura Mercier setting powder and applied a baking technique to areas where I used concealer to lock it in place.

Step 5:  Face Finish Bronzer MII cosmetics

To add some depth and dimension to the Eid Makeup look! I reached for the Face Finish Bronzer from Mii Cosmetics.

This bronzer is great for those with brown skin tones. A light sweep in the crease area gives us that dimensional effect without veering into overly pink tones.

J Note – Terracotta Blusher

Step 6: Terracotta Highlighter Note beauty

Highlighter can truly tie the whole Eid Makeup together. I applied it delicately on the cupid’s bow, brow bone, and cheeks, emphasizing the importance of using a minimal amount.

Step 7 : Finish Powder from  Laura Mercier

To seal everything in place, I turned to Laura Mercier cosmetics. A gentle tap of the finish powder all over ensures our makeup stays put.

Don’t forget to bake under the eyes for that extra flawless finish.

Step 8: Lips on Point

For the lips, I started by using the 908 ST London lipstick as a lip liner. Its gorgeous chocolate brown hue is a personal favorite of mine, as it not only defines but also enhances the natural shape of the lips.

Moving on to the lipstick, I opted for the subtle nude shade 900 from Ingrid Cosmetics, a renowned Polish brand. This shade adds a touch of elegance to the overall Eid Makeup look, complementing the bronzy tones and highlighting the natural beauty of the lips

Step 10: Flutter Those Lashes with Mascara

And what’s a glam look without some killer lashes? Use any mascara to amp up those eyelashes to make the eyelashes look bigger. I have used a Huda Beauty 1 Coat WOW.

And you can set everything with a makeup setting spray to make the makeup last longer.

And TADA the Eid Makeup look is complete.

Aicha’s Thoughts :

This year, I’ve chosen not to celebrate Eid for a painfully clear reason: the ongoing genocide in Palestine. It’s a harsh reality that overshadows the joyous spirit of Eid.

Eid is meant to be a time of celebration, a reward after a month of fasting for Muslims. However, it’s heartbreaking to witness the atrocities unfolding in Palestine. People there are struggling to survive, hospitals are being destroyed, and innocent lives are being lost. How can we immerse ourselves in festivities when such tragedies are happening?

The lack of meaningful action from Muslim leaders is disheartening. There’s a stark contrast between the essence of Ramadan, which is to foster moral courage, and the silence of a billion Muslims in the face of this crisis. It highlights a deep-seated hypocrisy within Muslim community.

Eid shouldn’t just be about outward celebrations; it should also prompt us to reflect and take a stand against injustice. The world needs to acknowledge the truth about the root causes of these conflicts and the role of entities like Israel and the US establishment in perpetuating violence.

The failure of organizations like the United Nations to implement peace and the biased portrayal of these issues in Western media only adds to the frustration.

It’s time for a change and we must demand accountability, speak out against injustice, and work towards a world where peace and justice prevail.
