What is Argan Oil ?

The naturally occurring plant oil is derived from the kernels of the fruit of the Argan tree which are native to South west of Morocco. It is valued for its abundant cosmetic and medicinal substances for centuries by the Moroccan people.

Now, touted as “Liquid gold” by the beauty experts around the globe and used in various cosmetics and skin care products.  It is proven that there are plenty of health benefits in Argan oil that is rich in essential fatty acids and vitamin E and A and  phenolic oils and phytosterol compounds which support healthy skin and hair.

The benefits include protection against inflammation and skin healing as it is rich in Vitamin E ( tocopherol). It reduces the ageing process both when applied over skin and taken orally.

Heartbreaker – Lip Contour Crayon

Aicha’s Experience of Lip Crayon From Luscious

I got two lip crayons in the Mystery box, Charmer and Heartbreaker.

The first time, when I applied it . I was in a rush to reach to the party in time and in the  hurry,  I mistook the lip crayon for  lipstick instead of the lip liner. I made the mistake as all the previous lip crayons that I had were supposed to be applied as  lipsticks. However, on the box of the Lip Crayon, Lip Contour Crayon  is mentioned clearly.

LIP CRAYON Sharpner

Like other crayon lipsticks, It also features a built in sharper that could be used to sharp the crayon to maintain its  shape  and would be helpful in  contouring the lips.

LIP CRAYON – Heart Breaker

Being a sucker for Red Lipstick. I’m always on the hunt for beautiful red lipsticks.

True to its name its very matte and is difficult to apply and sticks to the lips. It is claimed to be touch proof and long lasting product infused with Argan oil. But, I didn’t see any use of the presence of the Argan Oil in it as it was just as difficult to apply. Though I found it comfortable of the lips as I didn’t feel my lips dry (perhaps due to the   humid and hot weather that day)

Lip crayon versus Lipstick

I have a habit of  using a mouth wash before leaving the house. I tried the same after getting my makeup done and  swirled the mouthwash around my mouth and as I finished, to my horror, my lipstick just cracked from everywhere and the flakes  came off from the lips. In in instant was all gone!

To remedy it, I  reapplied the lipstick and it stayed put as long as I refrained from eating and drinking, and that being a foodie was not a very long time after I finished my dinner the lip crayon was all gone, but the worse thing was that it vanished without leaving behind a stain which prompted me to apply a third coat on the lips.

So, judging by the amount of times, I reapplied, I presume that the lipliner if used as a lipstick won’t last any long.

LIP CRAYON – Charmer

Charmer looks like a pretty brown/nude shade. But on  application it seemed more like a beige foundation stick applied to my lips. However, teaming it with a suitable lipstick could work.

I paired it with Sierra from Nyx cosmetics and the color turned out to be a  muted nude/brown. For me, if applied alone it was Nay!!  as it washed me out and didn’t suit my brown skin tone at all.

The texture was similar to that of heart breaker that is matte and very sticky. It is because these both are from the same range. However, I think that it can be used as a contour or a lip primer more likely.  Also, to lighten the dark lip liner could be used. But, Unfortunately for brown skin tone it won’t serve the primary purpose for which it is developed..
