The holiday season is here, and what better way to embrace the festive spirit than by transforming into an enchanting reindeer? This Reindeer Makeup Tutorial – Easy Christmas Makeup is perfect for adding a touch of whimsy to your celebrations.
Inspired by Bambi, one of my favorite Disney classics brimming with valuable life lessons, this look is both charming and fun to create. If you haven’t watched Bambi yet, I highly recommend it—it’s sure to spark the festive zeal you need to dive into this delightful tutorial.
Now let’s dive into the Reindeer Makeup Tutorial steps to achieve this delightful look.
Steps in Reindeer Makeup Tutorial
A flawless base is so important for any makeup look, especially cosplay ones like this. If your skin isn’t hydrated and smooth, the makeup won’t settle properly.
I used the Heimish Bulgarian Rose Satin Cream as a primer. It leaves your skin feeling silky and gives a subtle glow. Plus, I’m obsessed with its soft rose fragrance—it’s such a treat!
Reindeer Eyes – Reindeer Makeup Tutorial
And now, onto the magical reindeer eyes!
- For base, I used the Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush in Naked Brown. Its warm terracotta tone is perfect for something subtle, especially if you have fair skin. For deer-eyed look, I used Ingrid Eyeshadow Ideal Eyes in chocolate brown to create a winged liner. I extended it beyond the outer and inner corners of my eyes for that dramatic reindeer effect. Make sure to pack on the product for an intense look.
- Kajal
I lined my waterline with Essence Teddy Eye Kajal Pencil in Brown. This step really makes the eyes larger and look more expressive. - Mascara:
Finally, I added a generous coat of Maybelline Colossal Mascara to complete the reindeer-inspired gaze.
Sculpting the Reindeer Features
Now, let’s shape those reindeer-like features in the Reindeer Makeup Tutorial.
First, I did a slight contour with the Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush, but it turned out to be very light.
So for added depth, I applied the Ingrid Eyeshadow Ideal Eyes in a darker shade to my temples and the perimeter of my face. This technique accentuates the reindeer’s natural markings.
Honestly, it was quite a task—I had to do a lot of blending and ended up removing and reapplying the eyeshadow multiple times.
And that’s exactly why it’s a smart move not to use foundation underneath the eyeshadow!
Next, I dusted off the excess powder and cleaned up any fallout under my eyes. Then, I set everything with a concealer—which, in this case, is actually a foundation: Inglot Cosmetics Shade 84. It beautifully conceals dark circles and acne marks, leaving a flawless finish.
Reindeer Nose
The nose is such an iconic part of this look!
- I outlined and filled the reindeer nose using the Ingrid Eyeshadow and deepened it with MAC Antique Velvet Lipstick.
- To finish it off, I lightly contoured the sides of my nose and added a touch of the Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush in a lighter shade.
Reindeer Spots
- I brightened up my under-eye area, nose, and forehead with Ingrid Illuminating Foundation. This added a nice contrast since I skipped full-face foundation.
- For the reindeer spots, I used the same illuminating foundation and a thin brush handle to create small dots on my cheeks and forehead. It turned out super cute!
Lips
The lips were my favorite part because they’re so different and fun!
- Upper Lip: I used MAC Antique Velvet Lipstick for a dark, bold look.
- Lower Lip: I applied Ingrid Illuminating Foundation to lighten it up and set it with Laura Mercier Setting Powder.
PS : Just make sure not to smudge them together, or the colors will mix!
Final Touches
- Ears and Antlers: To complete the reindeer transformation, consider adding a headband with antlers and ears. You can find festive options online or at local costume shops.
- Hairstyle: A sleek bun or loose waves can complement the reindeer look beautifully.
