Today’s review is about the shade 04 Lip Gloss from BodyShop, the first global brand to fight against animal testing in their cosmetics.
Shade 04 is a beautiful light brown chocolate colour which makes the lips look plump and shiny. Most of the Brown Girls look for a perfect brown or nude shade for their lips because if you get to right then it can be one of most beautiful lipstick in your collection and if not than it’s trash. There are just extremes in it.
My Experience
shade 04 Lip Gloss from BodyShop is one of my favourite Lip Gloss in brown color and glossy finish. I had few lip glosses before because I never liked the texture of the lip glosses as I had horrible memories from it. Lip gloss was always too thin and needed reapplication for me.
When I swatched the shade 04 Lip Gloss from BodyShop on my wrist, I decided to purchase it. As it seemed thicker in consistency being a lip gloss and the colour was extremely flattering against my skin.
I’m very happy with the result on my lips because not only it compliments my skin, but also I could create a variety of looks with the lip gloss.
I purchased shade 04 Lip Gloss from BodyShop some time ago in search of a specific color for my collection. The product caught my attention due to its attractive appearance in photographs. After trying it, I was pleased to find that it lasts longer than other lip glosses I have used in the past. The color complements my medium brown skin tone and pairs well with a brown lip liner, reminiscent of the shade Buff by Bobbi Brown.
shade 04 Lip Gloss from BodyShopis a versatile choice that can be worn on a daily basis. However, when paired with a dark lip liner and bold eye makeup, it transforms into a standout look. This lip gloss is a testament to The Body Shop’s commitment to creating high-quality beauty products that not only perform well but also enhance one’s natural beauty. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchases from The Body Shop and would recommend their lip glosses to anyone in search of lasting color and versatility in their beauty routine.
It is concerning that The Body Shop does not provide a list of ingredients on the packaging of their Shade 04 Lip Gloss. As a conscious consumer, it is important to know the contents of the products used on one’s body, especially those that come into close contact with sensitive areas such as the lips. The lack of transparency in this aspect is disappointing and it would be beneficial for The Body Shop to consider providing ingredient information on their product packaging for the benefit of their customers.
Aicha’s Recommendation:
Although I couldn’t get it not get the ingredients, I could smell the Vitamin E present in the lip gloss which I hope turns out to be true and I guess it is one of the reasons why the lip gloss is so hydrating.
Overall, it looks good even if you apply it plainly and extremely nice with a brown lipliner. The beauty is enhanced and gives the appearance of Glossy Twig by Mac.
Packaging:
Lightweight and is in a travel-friendly packaging and comes in a transparent plastic tube with a doe-foot applicator
Texture:
The texture is very thicker than normal lip gloss and glides easily on the lips. It feels very comfortable and hydrating.
Finish :
It has a glossy finish along with a chocolate look. If applied with a lip liner, the lasting could be increased and it looks more extremely beautiful
Lasting:
The lip gloss stays longer than the usual lip glosses. However, don’t expect it to last longer like lipsticks
Aicha’s Verdict
7/10
Pros:
- Pigmented
- Beautiful brown shade
- Looks extremely beautiful with brown lip liner
- Provides good hydration and keeps lips soft
Cons:
- Not smudge proof (expected in a non – matte lipstick)
