Why Spanish Makeup Trend ?

Spanish Makeup is trending these days and TBH I was always confused why it didn’t ever before because it is so gorgeous – warm, fiery reds, golden glows, and dramatic eyes that channel the passion of Spanish culture while adding a touch of duende (that soulful, fiery spark).

Being a brown skin girl, I always look for makeup that suits me and I was very happy as this Spanish Makeup Tutorial on Brown Skin complement our melanin like nobody’s business.  PERFECTO!

Plus, it’s super versatile— you’re dancing the night away or snapping selfies, this makeup will pop. Ready?

Let’s get started! 💃

Skincare for Spanish Look – Prom Makeup Look

Before we slap on any makeup, we need a hydrated, canvas. I have started using  this Vitamin C Serum as my primer. It hydrate my skin and also gives me that dewy, radiant base that screams healthy glow.

Here’s how I do it:

  • Cleanse your face (I use a gentle cleanser due to my problem acne skin).
  • Apply a few drops of Vitamin C Serum all over your face, focusing on dry areas.
  • Massage it in with your fingers for that extra oomph of hydration
  • Let it sink in for a minute while you relax

Trust me, this step makes your foundation glide on like a dream. 😍

Flawless Base – Prom Makeup Tutorial for beginners

As I have made this Spanish Makeup Tutorial on Brown Skin double as a Prom Makeup Tutorial for beginners I have tried to make it as simple and impactful as I can.

For the base, I have decided to use one of my favorite Foundation from Sapphire Cosmetics, which is a total dupe for Giorgio Armani’s luminous silk foundation but way more budget-friendly. This stuff melts into my skin, giving a natural, second-skin finish that’s perfect for prom.

How to apply foundation on face

  • Grab a damp beauty blender
  • Pump out a small amount of foundation and dot it across your face—forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin.
  • Blend, blend, blend!

This foundation is buildable, so you can go as light or full-coverage as you want. For prom makeup, I like a medium coverage that lets my skin shine through. 💖

PS: Unfortunately this brand is discontinued – IDKW

To keep everything in place (because nobody wants a Melted messy prom pics), I reached for the Laura Mercier Setting Powder. This powder is a game-changer for setting makeup without looking cakey.

How to set foundation with powder

Dip a fluffy powder brush into the powder and tap off the excess.

Lightly dust it over your T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) and anywhere else you get oily.

How to bake makeup

For extra slay  apply a generous amount of powder on the same beauty blender through which you used the foundation

  • Use it carefully under the eyes
  • And alongside your cheek bones
  • Let it sit for 5 minutes, then dust it off with a clean brush.

This keeps your face matte but still radiant—perfect for dancing all night!

Spanish Eye makeup – Spanish Makeup Tutorial on Brown Skin

In Spanish Makeup Tutorial on Brown Skin –  eyes are where we bring that Spanish fire! We’re going for a warm, sultry look with pops of shimmer.

Here’s the breakdown:

1- Base with MAC Red Brick Eye Shadow ( and as a blush multitasking queen!).

This warm, reddish-orange shade is chef’s kiss on brown skin.

How to use :

With a flat shader brush, pack Red Brick all over your lids, blending slightly into the crease. Use a fluffy blending brush to soften the edges for a seamless look.

2- Shimmer with Note Beauty Highlighter

To make those eyes sparkle, I used very little Note Beauty Highlighter in TerraCotta.

How to use :

  • Use your fingers on top of the base for the golden-bronze look for maximum impact.
  • Apply a bit to the lower lash line and inner corners of your eyes to make them pop.

3- Define with Essence Teddy Kajal Pencil

For that sultry, bigger-eye effect, I grabbed the Essence Teddy Kajal Pencil. This creamy brown pencil is perfect for beginners.

  • Line your waterline to define your eyes.
  • Smudge a bit along the lower lash line and blend it out with a small brush for a soft, smoky effect.

4- Wing It with Maybelline Hyper Ink Eyeliner

No Spanish-inspired look is complete without a fierce wing! The Maybelline Hyper Ink Eyeliner makes it easy, even for newbies.

Start with a thin line along your upper lash line, following your eye’s natural shape. Flick it upward at the outer corner to create a wing.

(Pro tip: Use a piece of tape as a guide if you’re nervous!)

Clean up any mistakes with a Q-tip dipped in micellar water.

5- Lashes for Days with Maybelline Colossal Mascara

Finish the eyes with Maybelline Colossal Mascara. This gives crazy volume and length without clumping.Add a second coat to the upper lashes if you want extra drama and we have the perfect eyes for the Spanish Makeup Tutorial on Brown Skin.

Cheeks That Pop with MAC Red Brick

Back to MAC Red Brick—this time as a blush! This shade gives a natural, flushed look that screams Spanish sunset.

  • Apply it to your cheeks bones slightly higher for the model look Blend upward toward your temples for a lifted effect.
  • Layer lightly for a soft glow or build it up for more intensity.

Red Hot Spanish Lips with NYX Kitten Heels

For the lips, I used bold blood red NYX Kitten Heels which is perfect for prom and screams confianza (confidence!).

How to do classic red lips for Spanish Makeup Tutorial on Brown Skin

  • Take a good lip brush and draw the outline with precision.
  • Quickly fill in the lips as it is matte lipstick and dries fast

Tip : Always use NYX Kitten Heels with a lip brush

Final Touches for That Prom Glow

To tie it all together, spritz a setting spray (any drugstore one works) to lock in the makeup. If you want extra glow, tap a bit more Note Beauty Highlighter in TerraCotta on your cheekbones and the bridge of your nose. Now, you’re ready to own the night! 🌟
