True Autumn Makeup Look Simple for Brown Skin

Hey beauties!

Autumn is finally here, and yes, I know I’m a little late to post! Blame it on Halloween month — but trust me, I’ve been itching to do a Fall makeup look because, for me, autumn vibes start in November. 😂 So, here it is: my True Autumn makeup look, made simple and perfect for brown skin! Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Aicha, what exactly is a True Autumn makeup look?” Let me break it down for you! 🍂

What is True Autumn makeup look

True Autumn Makeup Look (or Fall Makeup!) is all about those rich, warm tones that bring out our natural glow. Think classic Autumn shades like burnt orange, rusty reds, deep maroon, dark earthy browns, soft muted browns, warm peaches, and pops of gold, yellow, and golden brown. And yes — even olive and dark greens! These greens add a perfect balance to all that warmth, keeping the look from getting too light or too dark.

And if you’re a deeper skin tone or a brown-skinned beauty, these colors were practically made for us! Seriously, there’s nothing like those rich, earthy tones on tanned or brown skin — they look flawless and just radiate warmth.

True Autumn vs Dark Autumn

True Autumn and Dark Autumn share a warm and rich base, but Dark Autumn leans deeper and sometimes slightly cooler in comparison.

True Autumn

Temperature: Warm. True Autumn is the warmest of all Autumns, with no cool tones.

Contrast: Moderate to low. Colors are rich but not extremely deep or intense.

Characteristics: True Autumn has earthy, golden tones. The palette is neither overly dark nor light.

Best Colors: It has colors like mustard yellow, burnt orange, olive green, rich browns, and earthy reds. Warm, medium-depth colors that aren’t too dark or bright.

Dark Autumn

Temperature: Still warm, but slightly cooler than True Autumn, with hints of depth from Winter.

Contrast: Higher contrast than True Autumn, as the palette includes deeper, darker shades.

Characteristics: Dark Autumn is the deepest and most intense of the Autumns, incorporating some darkness from Winter. Colors are rich, warm, and slightly more intense.

Best Colors: Deep olive, mahogany, dark teal, and aubergine. Dark Autumn can handle darker colors like deep chocolate brown, charcoal, and even black

True Autumn vs Soft Autumn

True Autumn and Soft Autumn are both warm-toned, but Soft Autumn is more muted and has a gentler look overall.

Soft Autumn

Temperature: Warm, but with a hint of coolness, making it less warm than True Autumn.

Contrast: Low contrast. The colors are soft, muted, and low in saturation.

Characteristics: Soft Autumn is the most muted of all the Autumns, with a gentle, dusty quality.

Best Colors: Soft, muted shades like dusty rose, peach, sage green, soft taupe, and grayish browns. Think of colors that are warm but gentle, with a hazy quality.

Luminous makeup foundation – True Autumn Makeup

Maybelline baby Skin Pore Eraser

The secret to a flawless makeup look always starts with good skin prep! For a smooth base, I went in with Maybelline Pore Eraser which blurs out pores and creates the perfect velvety canvas.

Max Factor Miracle Pure Skin Improving Foundation

For foundation, I used my go-to Maxfactor Miracle Pure Foundation. It’s like a light BB cream and gives such a beautiful, natural finish — perfect for that dewy natural fall makeup and I think is good as a True Autumn Makeup Look

Since I’m dealing with acne-prone skin and a few pimple marks, I added Inglot HD Foundation in Shade 84 as both a concealer and color corrector. It’s a little trick I love — using a lightweight BB cream overall but adding bit more coverage only where needed.

To set everything and make sure it stays sweat-proof, I finished with Laura Mercier’s Setting Powder to lock it all in place.

True Autumn Blush shades

For blush, a warm coral or peachy tone is perfect to tie the whole look together without being too much. I actually used NYX Life’s a Beach Lipstick as my blush, just like in my Ariana Greenblatt makeup look!

NYX lifes a beach

It has the ideal peachy warmth that complements brown skin and totally nails the True Autumn palette. If you don’t have this exact shade, any warm orange-toned lipstick works great as a substitute!

Natural Fall Makeup

To add more dimension, I layered on Shiseido InnerGlow Cheek Powder in Alpen Glow 06 just above the peachy lipstick blush. This shade is one of my all-time favorite peach blushes — it’s so perfect for that natural Fall makeup vibe!

And of course, no True Autumn makeup look would be complete without a little highlight!

I used the MAC Highlighter Palette picking a soft gold shade for a subtle glow. I dabbed it on my brow bone, inner corners, and cupid’s bow. It blended seamlessly with the warm peachy tones, giving a perfect autumn glow!

Soft & Subtle True Autumn Eyes

And if you’re wondering where the True Autumn eye makeup is in this Soft Autumn look, here it is! 😊

True Autumn shades are all about those rich, earthy tones, but since I was going for a soft, daytime vibe, I kept it subtle.

First, I used Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush in Naked Brown on the lid as a base. It’s the perfect earthy brown shade to start with. Then, I took a soft brown from the Ingrid Casablanca Eyeshadow Palette and added it to my upper and lower lash lines for a little depth.

To finish, I popped a warm peachy color from the Ingrid Peach Eyeshade on my inner corner and brow bone. This hint of luminosity adds just the right glow, enhancing brown skin beautifully without overpowering the look.

Soft Autumn Lips

For the lips, I went with a coral lipstick from a smaller brand, Sapphire Cosmetics. I lightly blotted it on to create a soft matte finish that’s perfect for a True Autumn vibe.

If you’re into a glossier look, you can add a touch of orange rust Lipgloss. I used Ingrid Lipgloss on top for that subtle shinee for a beautiful glossy finish!

Dark Autumn Look

Now it’s time for the Dark Autumn Look! 🌒

I kept it bold with the Ingrid Ideal Eyes Casablanca Palette, using Shade 4 — a rich dark chocolate — along my upper and lower lash lines. I dragged it toward the inner corner and blended it out for a smooth, smoky effect.

Next, I added some depth with the rust shade from the Revlon Illuminance Crème Eyeshadow Palette. This warm hue gives the perfect hint of drama. And, of course, I finished with Maybelline Colossal Mascara to give those lashes extra volume and make the eyes pop!

What is Medium Contrast Makeup?

Medium Contrast makeup look brings in rich, warm tones that create a balanced contrast without being too bold or too soft which is what trueautumn makeup look is all about.

For my Bold Dark Autumn Look, I made sure to include those rusty and gold elements that really bring out the warmth.

I used MAC Red Brick Eyeshadow as a blush — yes, eyeshadow as blush! This rust-toned shade adds amazing dimension and complements warm skin tones beautifully, giving that fiery autumn vibe.

For the ultimate Gold Goddess glow, I went with Rihanna’s Killawatt Highlighter. It blends seamlessly and looks absolutely stunning on brown skin, giving a “lit from within” glow that’s ideal for high-glam looks. Warm, golden, and perfectly radiant, it’s just what you need for that rich, luxurious finish.

This look is a great example of Medium Contrast Makeup, which uses deep, warm browns and golds to create a balanced contrast on warm skin tones — perfect for Fall!

Loreal 348 – Brick Vintage lipstick

Bold Lip Look for True Autumn

For the lips in this Dark Autumn look, I started with Ingrid Orange Lipstick — it’s a stunning semi-matte orange that looks ethereal with this makeup, especially for a True Autumn vibe. I lightly blotted it on my lips for a soft yet bold touch.

Of course, the makeup lover in me couldn’t stop there! I wanted to try something even bolder for you guys. So, I went in with Inglot HD Lipstick, but I was on the fence — couldn’t quite decide if it was washing me out or working.

So, naturally, I had to give it one more go! I pulled out my classic go-to, L’areal 348 Brick Vintage Lipstick. This deep, rich brick tone is perfect for Fall and looks gorgeous on all brown skin tones, effortlessly tying together the autumn theme.
