Thicken the line (optional)
If you desire a more intense look, you can gradually thicken the line by layering the pencil. Apply multiple coats to enhance the color and thickness until you achieve your desired appearance. I recommend starting to thicken the line from the middle of the eye. As you gaze straight ahead, begin adding thickness to the line from the center of the pupil.
Soften the line (optional)
If you want a softer look, you can gently smudge the line using a smudging brush or a cotton swab. This will create a softer, smoky effect. You can also do this look if you think you have not done your wing correct and don’t have time to correct it.
Clean up mistakes:
If you make any uneven lines or mistakes, use a pointed cotton swab with makeup remover to clean them up. This will help you achieve a precise and polished appearance.
Optional: Apply mascara and finish your eye makeup. Complete your look by applying mascara to your upper lashes. You can also add eyeshadow, highlighter, or other eye makeup products to complement your winged eyeliner.
Aicha’s Recommendation
Remember, practice is key when it comes to winged eyeliner. It took me several years to finally achieve the desired result. So, don’t get discouraged if it takes a few attempts to get it right. Experiment with different techniques and discover what works best for you. Keep in mind that everyone’s eye shape is unique; for example, I have almond-shaped eyes, and the technique may not be suitable for hooded eyes.
