I Fell for This Foundation… Then It BETRAYED Me
If you’ve ever gone down the rabbit hole of full coverage foundations, chances are you’ve heard of the Bourjois Always Fabulous 24H Foundation and today I will do Bourjois Always Fabulous foundation review
It ticks all the boxes:
✅ Thick, luxe glass bottle
✅ Promises 24-hour wear
✅ Infused with hyaluronic acid
✅ Oil-free + SPF 20
✅ Affordable high-street pricing
It sounds like a dream foundation, right?
Let’s rewind to when I was in my “foundation obsession” phase and trying out many foundations one after the other. And after my good experience with Bourjois Foundcealer, I thought I’d met my makeup soulmate. I mean, the scent alone had me swooning, and the bottle? Straight-up vanity goals.😍
But my darling readers… what started like a rom-com turned into a horror story for your gal in humidity.😢

💄 First Impressions: Love at First Swatch
The first time I applied it, I was like “WOW!”—such a seamless coverage, no need for concealer, and I was amazed by how it blurred my acne scars – like a dream. I looked flawless on camera. It held up under studio lights. I was obsessed.
If you’re looking for a full coverage foundation that gives a matte finish with a radiant glow, this foundation looks like it delivers only if you are in air-conditioned environment.

The Breakup: What Went Horribly Wrong
After successfully trying it in winters, one unfortunate day ( shocking music ) I wore it outside during a humid day, and here’s what happened:
- It oxidized within 2 hours and turned grey making me look like a corpse 😩
- Then on top of it, clung to the dry patches on my skin like a toxic ex
- Sweat? It made me sweat even more, especially around my mouth and nose
- And when I tried to wipe it off it was extremely difficult. Once I succeed i reapplied the foundation and that was a big Fail as well.
Seriously. The patchiness, the way it separated around my mouth, and the sheer effort to take it off? I felt like I needed a prayer to deal with this foundation from Bourjois.
And Bourjois claims to be “dermatologically tested”… I’d love to know on who? Because on my DERM – Acne-prone and oily, it very much did not work and preferred to sleep.
✨ What I Did Like:
- Full coverage: No concealer needed. For bridal makeup, photoshoots, or stage looks—it SLAYS.
- Price point: Beats L’Oréal, Maybelline, and even Max Factor foundations in affordability.
- Packaging: Instagram-worthy.
💔 What Went Wrong:
- It is not suitable for acne-prone or sensitive skin
- Oxidizes and turns grey after a few hours
- Terrible in humidity (especially if you sweat easily)
- Hard to remove—feels like scrubbing off bad decisions
- Not oil-controlling as claimed
🎯 Who is this foundation for?
If you have normal to dry skin, don’t live in high humidity, and want long-lasting full coverage makeup, this might work for you.
But for oily or acne-prone skin?
💔 It’s a match made in hell.
🧴 Final Verdict: Would I Buy It Again?
Yes—I’ll use it… but maybe to practice Halloween looks or mix with another formula to tame its drama and also because I don’t waste money !
Ps: Bourjois should rebrand it as a Halloween Foundation that would be perfect name for Bourjois Always Fabulous foundation
Score: 1.5/5
I wish I could give it a negative rating for how much difficulties it gave my but 2.5 only because I still love the fragrance !
But the formula? Not for this face, honey.
