Smokey eye makeup tutorial for beginners in 5 minutes | Powerfully stunning

Step 1 : Eye Base

It is important to use the eye base to create a stunning makeup look as it is  essential to help your eyeshadow pop and show its true colors.

This step is especially important for those with brown and dark skin tones, as the eyelids tend to be darker than the rest of the face. To achieve the perfect eye base, I always turn to my go-to product, the Ingrid All Mineral Silk & Lift.

This eye base is the perfect color for my skin tone and helps to keep my eye makeup in place for longer periods. By using an eye base, you’ll be able to create a flawless base for your eyeshadow and ensure that your eye makeup lasts all day and night.

Step 2 : Doing the crease

Doing the crease properly in a smokey eye look is extremely important so that black or any dark shadow remains in place and doesn’t cross the lid. It’s also important as it gives a very nice soft hue to the overall look.

I have used a soft brown shade and deepened it up, making sure to blend it well with a fluffy brush.

Step 3 : Applying black eyeshade

Now, it’s time to add the smokey effect to your eyes. Add a little bit of a darker eyeshadow shade and place it strategically in the middle of your eyelid. Make sure to start with a smaller amount and place it only on the lid, so it doesn’t look too heavy and spread over the entire eye.

Then, with a fluffy brush, blend it all over the lid.

Step 4 : Applying black shimmer eyeshade

To make the black eyeshadow pop more, I added a black glitter shadow in the center of my eye. I spread it out a little bit, but made sure to keep it concentrated in the center of the eye.

You can skip this step if you want, but I think it takes the smokey eye look to the next level.

Step 5 : Inner corners

To brighten up the inner corner and add highlight, I applied a silver sparkling shade. This is to make the eye look more awake.

Step 5 : Doing the brows & lashes for the smokey eye makeup

To complete the eye makeup, I used a brow filler to enhance my eyebrows and applied some mascara for the finishing touch.

If you prefer, you can add some false eyelashes for some extra oomph, but personally, I’m not a fan of eyelashes, so I don’t use them.

And voila, the look is complete!

By following these simple steps, you can create a stunning smokey eye makeup look that’s perfect for the red carpet. If you’re someone who loves going bold and dramatic with their eye makeup, then the smokey eye look is perfect for you.
