HISTORY OF TEA TREE PLANT AND OIL

Tea Tree plant is originated from New South Wales, Australia and is known as the Australian Gold.  In the eighteenth century, when British sailor, Captain James Cook, landed at New South Wales, Australia (which was once the penal colony for worst English, Scottish and Welsh Convicts, who were transported to Australia in lieu of the death penalty) the local inhabitants showed him the miracle tree, that he called The Tea Tree Plant (biological name – Melaleuca alternifolia)

The Aborigines for centuries, treated various ailments ranging from cuts, wounds, burns, fungal infections, acne, insects bites, athletes foots etc,  from the oil or the paste of the tea tree leaves.

In the 1923, Dr AR Penfold, conducted a series of scientific experiments which proved the tea-tree oil’s antiseptic potency 13 times stronger than the commonly used antiseptic in those days. Since then, the oil has been used to treat everything from fungal infections of the toenails to acne

Aicha’s Experience of Tea tree face wash body shop

I have used other products from the Tea Tree Range,, namely Tea Tree Oil from Body shop and the Face Mask. Due to my satisfaction, I was  prompted to try the Tea tree face wash body shop too. It has a gel like consistency and doesn’t really lather up much compared to other face washes that I have used in the past (Neutrogena – Oil Free Acne wash Pink grapefruit facial cleanser is one of my favourite). However, it is effective in removing the dirt and shine from the  skin pretty well.

Due to my oily, sensitive and acne skin. Most of the acne face washes dries my skin pretty much which is really bad as the only advantage in having oily skin is that you can evade wrinkles for a long time. But, it is  one that I consider really mild and gentle to use. Though, I still have to try it in the upcoming winters to check its full effectiveness.

Overall, Its a good product for acne prone and oily skin and suitable for all climates.

Price of Tea tree face wash bodyshop
