Aicha’s Experience

This night lotion boasts a light, gel-like consistency that imparts a tingling sensation to the skin upon application, thanks to the tea tree oil infusion. During the summer months, it serves as an excellent moisturizer and night cream for those with oily and acne-prone skin, owing to its light hydration. However, it may fall short in the winter, failing to provide adequate hydration due to its thinner consistency. To combat this, it’s advisable to layer a moisturizer over it to maintain skin softness.

For acne victims, pimples do not come alone, but brings with them the deadly acne marks. After all, the reason we invest our time & money in these lotions, face washes, etc. which are suitable for blemished skin is to get rid of both pimples and acne marks. Sadly, despite Body Shop’s claims that the Tea Tree Night Lotion fades acne marks, my personal experience tells a different story. Even after two years of consistent use, it showed no significant improvement in reducing my acne marks. Consequently, I’ve since switched to an alternative product.

Furthermore, extended use of the Tea Tree Night Lotion resulted in dry patches appearing across my face. As a result, I had to limit its use. Regrettably, my skin condition didn’t witness any improvement and, in fact, worsened, especially during the winter months.

The only plus of using it is that you won’t get any pimple as a result of using it in reaction. Although, it doesn’t mean you are pimple immune as through hormonal, weather or reaction with another product you might still get it.

Is the body shop cruelty free

For those concerned about animal welfare, it’s worth noting that The Body Shop is known for its cruelty-free practices.

In sum, I don’t recommend using this product to treat acne marks or pimples. However, it is still a good moisturiser for summers, especially for people living in hot climates due to its matte effect.

Aicha’s Verdict

1/10

In summary, while I wouldn’t recommend this product for treating acne marks or pimples, it does serve as a suitable moisturizer for summers, particularly in hot climates due to its matte finish. However, it may not provide the level of hydration required during harsh winter conditions.

Pros:

  • Doesn’t give pimples due to the presence of Tea Tree Oil
  • Hydrating.
  • Controls oil on the skin
  • Sensitive and gentle on the skin

Cons:

  • No value for money
  • Does nothing to fade acne marks
  • Long term use makes the skin dry and patchy
  • Doesn’t justifies the claims
