Who doesn’t remember Serena van der Woodsen from “Gossip Girls”, a popular tv show starring Blake Lively as the protagonist. It was one of my favourite shows while growing up and this lipstick, Scarleto Blake is a nostalgic reminder of the past as it is launched by L’oreal featuring Blake Lively.
Scarleto Blake is a great matte lipstick from L’oreal Paris Collection Exclusive Pure Reds and although I was afraid that it might not live up to its expectation as one of the great red lipsticks for brown skin but it gave me a big surprise due to its extremely beautiful color and eventually taking up the place of my most coveted bold red lipstick for Indian Brown skin. It looks extremely gorgeous on my Indian-brown skin because it is not too flashy and almost looks like it is made to keep Indian brown skin in mind – just the perfect shade of red.
Infused with jojoba oil, the formula is hydrating, and while L’Oréal claims a six-hour wear, actual longevity depends on eating and drinking habits. For a Hollywood diva vibe, pull out Scarleto Blake from your makeup kit and embrace its vivid beauty.

Kitten Heels – NYX
This is one of the famous, picture-perfect liquid lipsticks from NYX Cosmetics and I wanted to get it in my hands long. It is an extremely gorgeous shade in red lipsticks for brown skin, especially Indian skin tone, and appears very red: The true red actually. It is actually similar to Stunna by Fenty Beauty, a make-up brand of famous singer, Rihanna, and I think that Kitten Heels is a good alternative at a cheaper price for Stunna.
When it comes to Kitten Heels formula, I find the texture super moisturizing due to the presence of vitamin E in it but if you are looking for a long lasting matte lipstick, then you are up for disappointment because velvety texture and long-lasting lipstick does not really go hand in hand. The creamy formula of “Kitten Heels”, makes it a semi matte liquid lipstick despite tall claims by NYX Cosmetics. Overall, it is a fine “Red Lipstick” and is transfer proof. Unfortunately, my kitten heels applicator tip broke while I was filming so NYX please work on it.
Color 42 AMC by Inglot is a stunning crayon lipstick. This red shade complements Indian Brown skin with yellow undertones. The matte formula is transfer-proof and long-wearing, truly delivering on its matte promise.
The Inglot AMC crayons come in a beautiful tube with a sharpener at the end and you, seriously, don’t have to use any lip liner with it because it is enough on its own. You can glam it up however you want, but I think that less is more with this classic beauty from Inglot which is similar to chili from MAC. It is a different twist to the red because it is not a universal red, yet is still a gorgeous red lipsticks for brown skin
300 – 105 Liquid Lipstick – Ingrid Cosmetics
I don’t understand how every time I put a list of my favorite lipsticks, be it nude or red, somehow Ingrid Cosmetics makes it. I think because I have an eye for hidden beauty and I don’t go for expensive brands rather their quality so Ingrid cosmetics fits into the criteria. It is number 300 -105 in their liquid lipsticks from collection and comes in a simple tube, which is not something I bother about a lot. This red lipstick has a cardinal red shade something between red & maroon.
It is a very shiny lipstick, most like a lip gloss, which i didn’t expect because the label described it as a matte lipstick. And, it is because of that Ingrid is not very long lasting, but the good thing about it is that it leaves a stain even when it fades. In short; it is a beautiful red lipsticks for brown skin especially for Indian skin tone but needs constant reapplication.
347 – Rouge Haute by L’Oréal Paris
If I can define love and say it with lipsticks, nothing can be more precise than 347 – Rouge Haute from L’oréal Paris. It is one of my favorite lipsticks from L’oréal Paris from their color riche matte lipstick collection which is specifically created by L’oréal to give rich pigmented lipsticks. 347 – Rouge Haute is a beautiful red lipstick in crimson shade.
It looks etherial on my Indian brown skin and is a perfect red lipstick for me. Even with jojoba oil in it, the long lasting quality of Haute rouge 347 has not been compromised as a matte lipstick. Its texture is smooth and is very creamy on the lips, which makes it an ideal every day lipstick. I’m literally obsessed with 347 Rogue Haute by Loreal.
Pout maker – Lip crayon heart breaker from Luscious cosmetics
Heart Breaker, a lip crayon by Luscious Cosmetics, is a matte, confidence-boosting cardinal red – a red carpet winner for brown beauties. Introduced to the brand in 2019, I became a fan of their cruelty-free, paraben-free products. The crayon, true to its name, comes in a fat, chubby tube.
Despite containing “Argan oil,” Heart Breaker is a transfer-resistant, true matte red lipsticks for brown skin. Its application can be tricky, especially for beginners. I discovered outlining, filling with Heart Breaker, layering with another lipstick, and finishing with Heart Breaker ensures long-lasting wear without cracking. Avoiding eating or drinking further extends its longevity. In short, Heart Breaker is an affordable and perfect red lipstick for brown skin beauties.
Discussions of beautiful red lipsticks can never be complete without mentioning the fancy Ruby Woo from MAC cosmetics. It is an iconic red lipstick that almost looks good on every one but it especially considered the perfect one in the list of red lipsticks for brown skin. And I’m not doubt in love with it and it is one of my favorite red lipsticks. Ruby Woo is a cool-toned red lipstick and is actually a true “Red” shade, which is why everyone has it in their vanity.
Interestingly, Ruby Woo has hints of blue in it, which makes skin look brighter and teeth appear whiter too. Due to its classic shade, you can actually wear it during the day in winters. In the evening, Ruby Woo looks exceptional, being a bold shade. It is enough to be worn alone, as it is so, so pretty on its own. But with some gold eye shade or a pretty winged eyeliner, it would make you effortlessly chic as it is a matte red with blue undertones.
